Benefits of Membership

We would love you to become a member...

Financially supporting the Foundation will allow us to sustain the services we presently provide to members and allow us to grow.  Increasing membership numbers will give a greater voice to matters of advocacy and the needs of those affected by rare pituitary disorders and diseases. Help us to meet the objectives of our Mission Statement.

APF membership is $30.00 and runs from the start of July to the end of June each year. Those who join after 31 March are eligible for membership until June the following year. 

The Foundation is a Registered Charity with Gift Recipient and Tax Deductibilty Status.  Please consider a tax deductible donation.

PATIENT, CARER OR FAMILY MEMBER

Paid up members receive:-

  • The book Understanding Your Pituitary Problems by Lyn Taylor, a former Senior Nurse Manager of Diabetes and Endocrine Service at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. This 64 page paperback addresses the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of each major pituitary condition and helps patients and their families understand and manage their illness.

    The book is presently being reviewed and updated. 
     
  • a quarterly newsletter – including commentaries by health professionals, APF news and current information about pituitary awareness and management (members also can order back copies of newsletters or download them from the member's portal)

  • mail outs about patient meetings in your state

  • invitations to pituitary awareness educational seminars

  • personal communication with a committee member or state coordinator when required (please note we cannot assist with counselling, medical advice or referrals)

  • the opportunity to network with others through our exclusive contact support register (via the portal or by request) - or facilitated by APF personally

  • admission (via the member's portal) to a closed communication forum for a more personal experience

  • up-to-date news on information related to the pituitary or medications as it arises

  • video or DVD's of selected educational seminars - subject to loan or purchase (postage charges apply and if on loan - a refundable deposit)

  • a register of relevant Web sites and a list of other endocrine patient support groups in Australia and overseas( via the portal or by request)
     

HEALTH PROFESSIONAL OR CORPORATE MEMBER

By becoming a financial member you will be:-

  • ensuring the Foundation continues in it's endeavours to support those who seek help

  • providing the Foundation with a stronger voice for the needs of all pituitay patients

  • supporting health member partnerships

  • encouraging registrars to connect with the Foundation as a source of information

  • accessing an outlet for publication of research writing and information for the pituitarty community

 And you will receive:-

  • information about the APF

  • a quarterly newsletter – including commentaries by health professionals, APF news and current information about pituitary awareness and management (financial members can also order back copies of newsletters or download them from the member's portal)

  • if requested, a copy of the book "Understanding your Pituitary Problems"

  • brochures and membership forms which we hope you will distribute to patients

  • colourful pituitary posters which could be useful in your waiting room or clinic

  • invitations to pituitary awareness educational seminars - it is hoped you will encourage your patients to attend.  Of course, we would love to see you there as well!

  • personal communication with a committee member or state coordinator if there is something we can help you with

  • video or DVD's of selected educational seminars to purchase (postage charges apply)

  • a register of relevant Web sites and a list of other endocrine patient support groups in Australia and overseas( via the portal or by request)
